Solarus was the third doeling added to our herd in the Fall of 2016. Solarus has a similar body structure and appearance to her dam, Wandella. We love Wandella and hope Solarus becomes a carbon copy of her as she matures.
Solarus was bred to our herd sire, Argus for the 2018 Breeding Season and first freshened with two doelings in April 2018. Solarus has developed in to an incredible doe. Her body composition has grown considerably since last fall, her mammary is well balanced and her width and depth considerably larger.
Solarus participated in our June 2018 LA Appraisal and scored well for a young doe, particularly in strength, dairyness and mammary. As a FF, Solarus is already producing 8#/day in milk production.
2019 Updates
It is amazing how much this doe has changed in the past year, especially in mammary and dairyness. We already liked what we saw as a FF, and she’s more than exceeded our expectations this year, especially in the mammary department. Solarus scored an E in mammary in the Linear Appraisal.
We plan to use Solarus heavily in our show plans and are looking forward to solid results out of her. She continues to exhibit a lot of dairyness but has also improved considerably in body capacity and mammary which should lend well to her LA Appraisal scores.
August 2019 – Solarus was just awarded her Superior Genetics (SG) designation from ADGA. Incredible accomplishment for an incredible doe. Solarus also was awarded her *M designation this year.
2021 Updates
What more can we say about his girl? The older she gets, she better she gets. Solarus continues to be a powerhouse on the milk stand consistently producing 13-14# on test. This year we FINALLY got a doe kid out of her that we intend to retain, DeLuna Neptune. Hopefully Neptune can carry the torch forward as Solarus winds down.
