We’ll be honest, we were on the fence for many months whether we’d retain this kid or sell her. Mirabel started out as a very gangly looking kid with hocky rear legs, then at the 6 month mark she started to blossom and the decision was obvious, she’d be retained. Her pedigree is loaded with high performing dams and sires including several national champions from the likes of Lucky*Star, Kastdemur, J-Havens, Tempo and Rockin-CB. Judi Hoy at Lucky*Star reminded us to be patient, that this kid comes from a line that just matures really slow. We certainly saw that in her dam and are glad we listened to Judi’s advice. As a two year old, her dam, Kadara made the ADGA Elite doe list, an incredible achievement as it reflects the top 5% of does in breed. We hope to see the same with Mirabel as she matures.

We held Mirabel back a year to allow for more maturity and will include her in our 2022 Breeding Plans.

2021 Update

We introduced Mirabel to the show ring this year as a dry yearling and she did not disappoint. At the Idaho Syringa show, She went RCH in the first ring and GCH in the second ring earning her dry leg. We love her long body and very correct legs, feet and pasterns. Mirabel has a planned breeding with our new herd sire, Rockin-CB KMM Naga, can’t wait to see the results of this powerhouse breeding combination.
