WOW!!! It took 7 freshenings to finally get a doe kid out of Sybella (the dam) that we truly felt was worthy of retaining. Sybella had a pattern of producing only bucks save for 2 doe kids prior to Penella that we ultimately felt weren’t going to make the cut so we moved them to other pastures, then came Penella. This kid exemplifies everything we expect in overall show correctness. We showed Penella once in 2022 and she did disappoint, earning her dry leg and winning her class twice. We have selfishly made the decision to keep Penella dry this year and show her at the 2023 National Show as a dry yearling entry. We can’t wait to see this kid continue to mature.
